This is Rwanda

'This is Rwanda’ an aerial photography journey, project started after a return flight about four and half years ago on a sunny West coast of Rwanda trip. When Gael Ruboneka Vande weghe and I returned and looked out our photographs we were struck by the unique perspective we had captured and were reminded of the beauty of Rwanda.

This was it, this was the chance to photograph this country like no one had ever done.

This is Rwanda was born out of love…and this is the perspective we have when we fly.

For the full experience, be sure to grab a copy of our table book HERE.

The photographs in this book are taken from the sky in order to better showcase the beauty and detail of the country. It is a way to illustrate Rwanda's progress, through the eyes of the authors. It is also a way to show Rwandans their country from another angle and to show the rest of the world the true diversity of Rwanda.

This book is for the next generations of Rwandans: the authors want to ensure that their children and future children are proud of beautiful storytelling that combines a passion for the art of photography and a passion for the land they call home. This book is for the present generation: the authors want to remind their peers that documenting our progress is just as important as the progress itself. This generation must take a moment to appreciate the present, but also to realize that it has a crucial role in contributing--each individual in their own way--to the future of Rwanda. And, finally, this book is for the generations before ours. It is the authors' way of honoring their heritage and ensuring the continued legacy of those who built this country.
